Make the World More Equitable
Dear Ones,
It was in 2011, during a Shamanic Breathwork, that I received a message: a call to go to Africa to be with the White Lions. I had no idea why, or in what direction it would take me. I listened (which wasn’t easy) and followed this calling, joining Andrew Harvey’s Sacred Warriorship at the Global White Lion Protection Trust.
In hindsight, taking this first step would lead me to the next right steps, including leading me back to Africa (7 times to South Africa alone but also visiting 7 African countries). It was as if each time I said “yes”, another piece of the puzzle of my life path would reveal itself. It led to me co-writing Sacred Messengers of Shamanic Africa, which helped me understand the connection between the macro and microcosm, or “In healing yourself, you heal the World”.
Yet, I still only had a partial understanding of what it all meant. What I thought changed over and over again, only to reveal a deeper personal path. Essentially, I have been tracking my life! Each of us tracks our life with each experience we say “yes” or “no” to.
Today, I am closer to understanding this path of conviction, the pieces are coming together in a coherent narrative of how to be in right relationship with nature and how we are each being called to support a new paradigm of warrior energy, an energy that calls us to hold steady in love and truth through upheaval towards profound evolutionary upgrades.
This is a difficult thing to do with so much polarity in the world right now. In doing our emotional work, we are stronger, less reactive, and can hold a steady thread of understanding of the other. It is a very trying thing to do, particularly when we see and experience gross injustice.
Here in our community a young black woman, Sonya Massey was brutally killed by a white sheriff’s deputy after she called 911 for help. Her senseless death weighs heavy on our hearts, as we ask ourselves what can we do? How can we support an overhaul of our system to be more equitable? Sonya’s tragic death is serving as a driving force for change.
At a microcosm level, we each need to look to our communities and how we can get involved at the personal level to bring dialogue for systemic change. We may need to do personal self-reflection to see ourselves as agents of change at the same time as we expand our perspective to see what we can't yet see. This also means healing our traumas to bridge the gap between us and the other.
At a macrocosm level, we can work towards healing by being in right relationship with ourselves and the planet. To that end, I am returning to Africa in March 2025. The journey now has a deeper calling for me and maybe for all those who are called to this Pilgrimage.
A pilgrimage is not just a journey but a sacred passage that can lead to profound personal transformation and awaken us to a clearer calling of how we can be of service.
This journey will inform not just the participants but also our world. We will be traveling in relationship with the land, animals, and people in a higher order of service, while at the same time we will be in awe of the Motherland, the place from which we all originated. We will experience wonders that will open our hearts a bit wider.
We will be tracking the next piece of the puzzle of our life path, each unique and yet connected in a larger way to Humanity. Together, we will bring home a piece of ourselves to make this world more equitable, just, balanced, and whole.
Wishing you all love and compassion as we each find our way,
Carley and John
